This Guy’s Edgier Than I Am!
As if I didn’t have enough to worry about, I just discovered a new possibility for public humiliation.
Brian Beutler writes a hilarious column every week in City Paper called "Seller’s Market" where he highlights a house that is currently for sale. A listing could be the winner of this dubious honor if it is some combination of overpriced, smelly, tacky or generally awful.
So, who is this guy, anyway? Is he some goofy agent who writes using an alias to avoid expulsion from the National Association of Realtors?
Whoever he is, he is a reason to hope the bubble doesn’t completely burst, thereby eliminating the Seller’s Market that he writes about. And he does the real estate community a genuine service in creating a potentially embarrassing consequence to overpricing a really awful house.
You rock, Brian!

The edgier the better. The real estate community needs a wake up call and you are providing a very valuable service—it may not endear you to your fellow REALTORS, but the public will see a voice of reason and a person with integrity that is looking out for the interests of her clients and not simply the commission check. Keep fighting the good fight.
Pat,
This guy’s column is online, maybe you should link to it: http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/seller/2006/sellermarket0120.html
